Two-year-old colt VEGAS RAIDER (Invader x Casino Lass) was put through his paces this morning in his first official barrier trial at Warwick Farm.
The son of Invader took to his home track in the Colts and Geldings Open Trial, and despite racing fiercely and showing signs of immaturity early on in the 800m hit-out his trainer David Pfieffer was pleased with the performance.
Once jockey Tim Clark got him to settle, the bay colt wasn’t asked to do much in the closing stages and he came home nicely to finish four lengths behind a smart galloper from the Bjorn Baker stable.
The outing will no doubt benefit him from an educational point of view and we look forward to his next trial in the next fortnight.
