VEGAS RAIDER made our partners proud with an impressive second at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
Aided by the sort of hot tempo he had been crying out for all preparation, VEGAS RAIDER finished his race off strongly and although the winner proved too smart, it was an encouraging performance for trainer David Pfieffer.
“It was great to see him utilise a good gate, see plenty of speed in the race, allow him to settle properly and attack the line,” he said.
Having pulled up well after the race Pfeiffer now plans to give our boy a few days rest before preparing him for another 1000 metre contest in late January before a potential tilt at a Saturday Metropolitan Midway.
“I want to target him for a race on February 11, a 1000m Midway race at Randwick which is worth decent prize money and with a midway, you’re generally going to get a full field which usually means plenty of speed," he said.
If VEGAS RAIDER continues to perform, Pfieffer is also eyeing off a potential return to Melbourne for a $750,00 Inglis race at Flemington on March 4.
But for now? Enjoy a few well earned days off VEGAS!
