After a winter spell, KING KAPA is back at the Edmonds Racing stables to begin his preparations towards next year’s Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.
A dazzling debut win and a brave fourth in the Group 2 Spirit of Boom Classic was an excellent return from his first preparation, and trainers Toby and Trent brought him back into work this week ahead of a campaign which will be geared towards increasing his prizemoney earnings.
With around $100,000 required to guarantee a start in the $2 Million Guineas, which will be run over 1400m at the Gold Coast on Saturday January 15, 2022, the King will return for a brief preparation before targeting some of the time-honoured 3YO races during Queensland’s summer carnival.
Races such as the Listed Mick Dittman Plate, the Listed Gold Edition Plate and the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate loom on the distant horizon, but before then the team at Edmonds Racing will aim to increase his fitness and look to step him up to Saturday city grade.
Our speedy son of Capitalist (pictured at Newington Farm) looks a million bucks and we’re expecting him to come to hand fairly quickly, as he’s still carrying some residual fitness from his last campaign
