in around the Polytrack surface at the Sunshine Coast on Tuesday morning could open up some future options for COOL INTELLIGENCE.
Trainer Tom Button has thrown in a nomination for next Wednesday’s Class 1 Plate (1200m) at Ipswich after seeing COOL INTELLIGENCE come through her trial in good order.
The daughter of Nicconi finished second under apprentice jockey Shania Willis, and seemed to handle the Polytrack very well in her first official trial at her new home track.
With work having been completed on the $8.9 million synthetic surface earlier this year, the Sunshine Coast Turf Club is set to host some meetings on the all-weather track in the near future so it was very pleasing to see COOL INTELLIGENCE readily take to it.
In the more immediate future, next week’s $35,000 assignment shapes as a potential kick-off point for the mare’s summer campaign.
