PAR UN NEZ PERFORMS AT THE TRIALS

PAR UN NEZ moved one step closer to making his race debut after coming through his second official trial in good order.

A son of Written Tycoon, who won the Australian Sires Premiership last season, PAR UN NEZ took to his home track at the Gold Coast on Wednesday morning and worked through his gears nicely under jockey Ben Thompson. French for 'by a nose’, PAR UN NEZ finished half-a-length off the winner and the 4YO impressed Thompson with his performance and manners. “It’s the first time I’d sat on him, but he did everything right,” he said. “There were a few horses playing up before the start, but it didn’t bother him. He jumped nicely and I could have held the spot sitting second, but I thought he might learn more from letting the outside horse cross in front of him and giving him something to follow. “He let down well and was very genuine, he wanted to lay in a little bit down the straight because there was a bit of daylight between him and the leader, but once we got closer his action was much better. I think the horse that won must be pretty good because I thought we were going to pick him up, but our guy gave me a really nice feel so it was a very pleasing trial.” WATCH HIS BARRIER TRIAL BELOW
