KOBESTAR returned from almost 12 months away from the track with a fast finishing second for new trainer Lindsay Hatch at Toowoomba on Saturday night. In a positive first performance following a wind operation earlier this year, KOBESTAR overcame a tardy start with a powerful finish from the tail of the field to just miss out on a first-up victory. Although not pleased with the ride on KOBESTAR, Hatch couldn't have been happier with the performance which was just what we wanted to see after such a long time away from the track. "He's pulled up terrific after his good first-up effort," said Hatch. "I was a bit disappointed in the ride and I believe the horse should have won. But he's going to take immense improvement from this run and I'm sure we're in for some fun with this horse going forward. "I'd like to give him three weeks between runs so I'll give him another week before I pick a next race." Stay tuned for more news on KOBESTAR in the coming weeks.
