It has been a huge start to the week for our partners after last-start winner KOBESTAR secured one of the prized slots in the inaugural $700,000 Four Pillars Midway (1500m) at Rosehill on October 30.
Fresh off a tough victory at Gosford on October 7, slot holders were quick to make contact and after a week of negotiations behind the scenes, a deal has been secured to grant the four-year-old a start in the rich new race.
It promises to be an exciting build-up to the inaugural Four Pillars Midway – which gives Kosciuszko ticket holders a second chance and is run on Golden Eagle Day at Rosehill on October 30.
KOBESTAR has enjoyed a successful preparation under the new training team of Rob and Luke Price, producing a slashing first-up run before winning over 1200m on an unsuitably tight track last start.
Champion jockey Tommy Berry, who has been in the saddle for both our boy’s two career wins, said post-race our boy would be even better when he steps up in distance and he now gets his chance over the 1500m at Rosehill.
Well done to our partners who are going to have an exciting few weeks: Strong Bloodstock, Colts Club 1, Mr K Chambers, Mr G G B Macdonald, Mr N Tortorella, Mr L W Chapman, Mr A Kinnas, Mr R Cutrie, Mr J P Young, Crams Racing, Mr M N Waters, Mrs K C Waters, Mr D Iannuzzi, Mr S Naidenov, Mr J L Rich, Mrs N Kaya, Mr D Lee, Mr B Howell, El Dorado Thoroughbreds
