BOSSED UP IS A CITY SLICKER

BOSSED UP delivered some early festive cheer for our partners when he won at his first start at Saturday metropolitan grade on his home track.

The 3YO returned from his winter spell in style with a first-up win at the Sunshine Coast in late November, and he promptly built on that victory in Saturday’s QTIS 3YO Handicap (1000m) at Eagle Farm.

With Jimmy Orman in the saddle, the son of Better Than Ready took his earnings past the $125,000 mark with a dominant display for trainer Tony Gollan.

BOSSED UP settled just off the speed and when Orman peeled him off the fence in the home straight, the pair pulled well clear to score by over three lengths.

“It was a decisive victory in the end,” said Gollan.

“They went along at a really good gallop but I was surprised at the gap he put on them. The way he hit the line strongly and was powerful in the finish, I’d say we’ll look to step him up to 1200 metres next time.

“He’s come back a much better horse this prep. He’s really furnished but he’s still learning his trade, so we’ll only give him a light summer campaign and I think you’ll see a really nice horse next year.”

Here’s hoping the future is indeed bright with this boy, many congratulations to our partners: Mr R J Hansford, Mr A R Madigan, Mr T l Triffitt, Mr D L Beale, Mr J Ayers, Mr S Bouma, Mr L Christopher, Mr T A Dunne, Martin Thoroughbred Racing, Mr D Constantin, Mr P Walkden, Mr P A Curran, Mr R A LOWE, Mr N J Love, Mr P J Hanrahan, Mr C A Bell, Mr N M Parker, Mr M S Bennet and Mr L McCormick.
