BOHO BEAUTY is ready to head to the races for the first time after continuing her education in a trial yesterday morning.
The Spirit Of Boom filly won her previous trial at the Sunshine Coast and was impressive again at Deagon, flying out of the gates and leading most of the way before being overtaken near the line to finish third.
Trainer Toby Edmonds felt that the softer surface at Deagon may not have been to her liking and was also of the view that she will be settle better with a bit of cover, but was overall pleased with the effort.
“She came through the trial nicely and Ben Thompson was happy with her,” he said.
“Her barrier manners are improving all the time, she stood there as good as gold and began quickly from the outside gate.
“She’ll finish off better with some cover and the track was also quite cut up on the onside, which wouldn’t have suited her. It’s quite an undulating track at Deagon and some of our better horses struggle on it, so a filly seeing it for the first time probably wouldn’t have handled it very well.
“But she pulled up well, she’s been out for a light swim and she ate well overnight, so we feel she is ready to go to the races now.
We might kick her off in a lower grade race either over the border or here on the Gold Coast, but we’ll come up with a plan in the coming days.”
