BINDI GOES BACK-TO-BACK

Updated: Apr 12, 2023

BINDI’S CHOICE progressed from a maiden to a Benchmark 64 and registered back-to-back wins at Kembla Grange on Friday.

The winner’s cheque and accompanying BOBS bonus moved her earnings close to $60,000, which represents an excellent return on the $35,000 purchase!

The daughter of Denman broke her maiden in fine style with a four-length romp over 1200m at the same venue two weeks prior, and she relished the step up in grade and distance to score again under jockey Jay Ford.

“That was pretty impressive,” said trainer David Pfieffer.

“She’s still very new and learning her trade, but she’s got some ability and she let down very nicely.

“I think we’ll see her the best of her next preparation, we might get her out to a mile in time but for now this was another nice win for the team at Strong Bloodstock.”

BINDI’s CHOICE sat two pairs back for the early part of the $50,000 contest, before Ford peeled her to the outside with 400m to go.

When he asked her for an extra effort, the filly responded in impressive fashion and pulled clear of her rivals to land a victory which was probably more comfortable than the half-length margin might suggest.
