Stakes Class Talent Emerging in ICE KOOL

The excitement surrounding Ice Kool continues to build after the talented son of Zoustar produced another dominant display at Randwick, taking his record to three wins from just four starts and further strengthening the belief that he has a bright future in stakes company.

Returning from a break, Ice Kool showcased his immense natural ability with a commanding first-up victory, cruising to the line under leading jockey Jay Ford despite still showing signs that there is plenty of improvement to come.

Ford was full of praise for the lightly-raced gelding following the performance, suggesting the horse has the talent and engine to develop into a stakes performer as he continues to mature and gain valuable race experience.

Although Ice Kool raced keenly through the early stages of the 1000-metre contest, he still had plenty left in reserve when it mattered, putting his rivals away effortlessly and scoring by more than two lengths eased down.

The experienced hoop believes the key to unlocking Ice Kool’s full potential lies in refining his racecraft.

“He is a pretty good horse, he just lacks race craft,” Ford explained.

“He has got an abundance of speed but he still has to learn how to harness that a bit. The talent is there, the big motor is there and from the top of the straight he was pretty cruisy.”

Ford went on to suggest that once Ice Kool learns to channel his natural speed more effectively, he can quickly rise through the grades and become a genuine stakes contender.

“As soon as he can get those one-percenters right, you’re going to see him contesting stakes races in the next 12 months.”

For Strong Bloodstock and his ownership group, the performance was another exciting step forward for a horse who has already amassed close to $390,000 in prizemoney from only four career starts.

The victory further highlighted the enormous upside Ice Kool possesses. Still lightly raced and learning his craft, the gelding has already demonstrated an exceptional turn of foot and the ability to put races away in a matter of strides.

With another successful preparation now underway and confidence growing among connections, the future looks exceptionally bright for Ice Kool as he continues his journey towards higher-grade racing.

The anticipation is building, and if his latest performance is any indication, there may be even bigger celebrations ahead for the Strong Bloodstock team and owners in the months to come
